The American Society of International Law is holding its midyear meeting in Cleveland, Ohio on September 26-27, 2025. The midyear meeting includes research fora that focus on draft papers selected through an open, competitive submission process. Several selected papers may be of interest to TLB readers, including:
- Challenging National Security List Designations in U.S. Courts by Ruowen Shi
- Americans in Chinese Courts by Yanbai Andrea Wang, TLB Adviser and Contributor
Both are slated for discussion at 9:00am on Saturday, September 27 in a panel that I am moderating, entitled Access to Justice.
Harlan Cohen is moderating a panel on Friday, September 26 at 1:45pm entitled U.S. Foreign Relations Law. It also features work that may be of interest to TLB readers (although I have not seen the draft papers): Executive Gatekeeping by Steven Koh; The Patterns of Paradiplomacy: An Empirical Study of U.S. State Agreements with Foreign Governments by Barbara Koremenos & Ryan Scoville; and Procedural Imperialism by Alveena Shah.
