Wenliang Zhang is a legal scholar and practitioner specializing in international dispute resolution, with a particular focus on private international law. His practice includes international arbitration and cross-border litigation, complementing his academic work. His English-language research has appeared in leading journals such as the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law, the Rabel Journal of Comparative and International Private Law, the Journal of International Dispute Resolution, the Chinese Journal of International Law, and the Asia Pacific Law Review. He holds two PhDs—one from Ghent University Law School and another from Wuhan University Law School. From 2013 to 2015, he was a post-doctoral researcher at Peking University Law School. He then joined Renmin Law School as Associate Professor, where he taught and conducted research until 2025. He was a visiting scholar at UC Davis from 2019 to 2020.
