The next International Law in Domestic Courts (ILDC) Workshop will be held at the George Washington University on Friday, May 23, 2025. The ILDC is an interest group of the American Society of International Law. Its purpose is to promote dialogue among scholars and lawyers who are interested in issues pertaining to the application of international law and foreign relations law in domestic courts, particularly U.S. courts. The ILDC holds a workshop once a year to provide an opportunity for those interested to present works-in-progress and exchange ideas in an informal atmosphere.
The workshop is built around early state works-in-progress that are 10-12 pages long. These shorter papers may be a sketch for a new project or an excerpt from a more complete article. The goal of the workshop is to provide substantive feedback on true works-in-progress in advance of the summer writing season. We encourage submissions from both junior and senior scholars, as well as practitioners engaged in academic writing.
If you have a project that you would like to workshop, please send an abstract (or more, if you prefer) to interest group co-chairs Bill Dodge (william.dodge@law.gwu.edu) and Maggie Gardner (mgardner@cornell.edu) by Friday, January 31.
