Rachel Bayefsky is associate professor of law at the University of Virginia School of Law, where she has taught International Civil Litigation, Federal Courts, and International Law (among other courses).  Bayefsky’s pieces have been published or are forthcoming in journals including Stanford Law Review, Georgetown Law Journal, Cornell Law Review, Virginia Law Review, Yale Law Journal, Harvard Law Review Forum and NYU Law Review Online. Her book “Dignity and Judicial Authority” was published by Oxford University Press.

Bayefsky clerked for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg of the Supreme Court, Chief Judge Robert Katzmann of the Second Circuit, and Judge Jed Rakoff of the Southern District of New York. Bayefsky also worked on transnational cases as a litigator.  She earned her J.D. from Yale Law School, where she was editor-in-chief of the Yale Law Journal, and her D.Phil. from Oxford, where she studied as a Rhodes Scholar.
