Andrés de la Cruz is Director of the Law Degree Program at the Universidad Torcuato di Tella where he is also professor of Obligations and Contract Law, and teaches sovereign debt restructuring courses in the Law and Economy Masters’ Program at UTDT.
He served as Deputy Solicitor General of the Treasury of Argentina from December 2023 to February 2025 and was partner of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLC until December 2021. In 2017, The American Lawyer recognized him as the “Dealmaker of the Year” for his leading role as counsel to Argentina in its historic $16.5 billion debt offering in 2016, the largest sale of debt by any developing nation.
In 2023, he received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the International Financial Law Review (IFLR), for his contributions over 30 years to the development of Latin America’s capital markets.
