Luana Matoso

Luana Matoso is a PhD candidate and research associate at Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg, Germany. She is also a member of the Institute’s Center of Expertise on Latin America. Her research focuses on private international law, international civil procedure law and methods of comparative law. She is particularly interested in how different legal systems understand and address matters of jurisdiction.
Luana studied law at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (Brazil) and the Université d’Angers (France). After being admitted to the Brazilian bar, she earned a LLM degree in private international law and German civil law from the University of Hamburg.
